About Dawid Weiss...

I was born on the first of April, 1977 in Pila, Poland. It was still in primary school when I had my first contact with black and white photography. Making and developing pictures in often cold, unstable chemicals taught me a lot about perseverance and patience; out of ten rolls of film we used to have one modest-quality picture... But there was nothing else in the world I would be more proud of.

Besides photography, I was also very interested in computers and even published a computer game with my friend Radoslaw Walachnia. After high school I decided to continue my education in this direction and went to study computer science at Poznan University of Technology. As a student I had several opportunities of going to the United States and working at summer camps. These journeys, and more precisely: the marvelous national parks of American southwest, revived my old passion for taking photographs. All the money I earned I would spend on photo equipment, trying to capture as much as possible of the unique beauty of the region. In my very subjective opinion - the money was well spent and the effect was worth the effort.

In 2001 I graduated summa cum laude and my university mentor offered me a position at the Laboratory of Intelligent Decision Support Systems. I remain employed there, devoting a vast amount of my spare time to photography and this site.
